PSU vs. U of Pittsburgh

I agree with frasi. PSU students, in general, are friendly, but most people tend to hang out with people that are like them. You'll see whites hanging out with whites, blacks with blacks, and asians have their own group. Internationals are the ones who suffer the most because the international student population is quite low, and these students dont' mix up with the mainstream American crowd. Heck, even Asians tend to segregate themselves coz there are vast differences between an Asian that has been born and brought up in the US, and an Asian coming from abroad. If you're looking for diversity then PSU is one of the worst places to go.

Reputation wise, it is a good school. In my opinion PSU and Pitt are equal overall, but I would give the edge to PSU because its a much larger school and its resources are plentiful. The huge alumni network is a big plus when you're looking for a job. The career center is also quite helpful, and even though PSU is located in the middle of nowhere, lots of companies come to State College to recruit students.

I would presume that Pitt has a lot more diversity as its located in a city. If you like the city and don't want to limit your interaction with the same type of people then go to Pitt. It's all about fit really.

thank you so much, you guys!

i've gotten a deep sense of PSU and UPitt.
