I was accepted into Penn State and U Maryland. I live in Massachusetts but and made the 8 hour drive down to visit both of them. However, I had a change of heart from my previously intended major and thinking about going undeclared with a vision of either business or engineering.

From what I have read and seen in the rankings (yes, I know there's only so much truth to them) PSU and UMD have respectable engineering programs, but since I did not learn enough about the programs when I visited, I was hoping I could get some insight.

What do you know about their programs? Do they have any specialities? Any information you can give me would be great; internships, difficulty, prestige, graduate success, social life associated with students in major...anything!

Both would offer a great opportunity in either business and engineering. I would say for you to pick the school you feel the most comfortable at (assuming money isnt an issue I suppose.)

Also, as a CS major at Penn State I have had no problem getting offers for internships from anywhere, I know Microsoft among lots of others recruit from here. Like I said above, it more likely depends on which school you liked more…since you probably have a better chance at a high GPA at the school you’re more comfortable at.
