Hey, guys. I’ve been admitted as an electrical engineering major at SIT and PSU 2+2 program. PSU has a higher undergraduate engineering ranking and cheaper cost. On the other hand, SIT is right by New York City( means more chances), but the cost of SIT is $65,616 per year (with $7500 per year scholarship, so the cost is about $59000 ).So, the key thing is which school would be a better choice for my future career. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
More chances for what? New York represents a relatively small market for engineering companies - they don’t derive enough benefit from the urban locale to justify the extremely costs associated with it. Proximity to NYC only really helps for students of business or the arts.
Flat out, there is no way to justify $60k/yr for an undergrad engineering degree. PSU is a respected name with lots of connections and pull, save the money and go there.
