which one should i take? is one easier than the other?
I know psych 1 has a discussion so how is that?
oh and i guess firstly, is it possible to phase 2 psych as a sophomore or should i plan for something else?

i’m taking psych 1 right now. it’s not that bad, but if you don’t study you could potentially do very poorly. from what i hear, psych 2 is pretty easy. the only real reason to take psych 1 instead of psych 2 is if you want to take some upper div psych classes (they all require psych 1).

psych 1 has optional discussion.
i think you can phase 2 either one.

^All discussion sections for psych 1 are optional?

i think that depends on the professor. Kihlstrom does not do this. He actually makes discussion attendance a somewhat significant part of your grade.

For Shimamura it is, you get extra credit for going to all sections.

im taking psych 2 with jennings right now and its pretty straightforward, they follow the book pretty closely and you read about a chapter a week.

theres 3 midterms and a final and they take top 3 scores. jennings also curves each test a bit
the tests are conceptual, and a bit weird, but its pretty easy to get a B. maybe hard to get an A, but very possible.

i’m not sure if how its gonna be the same next semester, but if you take it next semester, and souza is teaching, take him, i hear hes alot better.

reading the textbook isnt that bad too cuz its a pretty funny textbook haha.
