I heard this class is easy and it sounds like a good choice for me cause my other classes are hard. I have someone named Ann Phillips, but if I want I can switch into Malley. Anyone know who is easier? I prefer to do the least amount of work possible and goto class as little as possible.

I've heard that both are about the same. Take Psych with Shelly Schreier (2 hour class two times a week and no discussion session). You will have to go to class no matter which teacher you take it with, but Shelly is an excellent teacher overall and gives lots of extra credit.

damnit I couldn't get into Schreier. I wanted to.

Do you suggest I take a different class? Cause it sounds like there's so many assignments and reading and frankly, I don't have the time.

Try getting into ANTHRCUL 101 (Introduction to Cultural Anthropology). It will also complete your SS requirement.Take it with Thomas Fricke. I heard he's a good teacher.

Also, see if you can get an override for Psych 111 with Schreier, or just keep looking for open spots. I'm sure some people will drop it before next week starts.

Malley is the harder of the three.

Took Schreier's Psych 111 last year. Never went to class, came out with a A. Take the class, seriously.

^^ How did that happen? You've got to be kidding me.

Before the exams I would read the textbook and fill in the lecture outline, using some websites for stuff that wasn't in the book. Wrote good papers and used a transcript (or thorough summary, forget which) of the in-class movie for the final paper. I don't suggest doing this, I just didn't feel like hauling ass down from Oxford at 9AM in the winter last year.

i took this class with malley. it wasnt too difficult but i've heard that he's the hardest of the psych111 professors

DO NOT SWITCH OUT OF DR. PHILLIPS' CLASS. That way you will be able to skip EVERY lecture and do all your learning from discussion section and the book! Dr. Phillips' exams are very easy and there are tons of ways to earn extra credit without ever going to class! It's a blowout class, trust me.

Apparently there's only one way to earn extra credit now and it requires going to class. You email her a question the night before lecture and then you have to stand up in lecture and ask it to her. Only worth a point.

But, that's good to hear Razz.

No, there are several other ways as well. For example she gives 52 questions in her test of which 50 are graded. So say a 41 on 52 becomes a more impressive 41 on 50. Also, you get 5 extra points to your total exam score if you mail 5 MCQ questions to your GSI (they'll tell you this later on). Plus, in the lecture before every test, you can get an extra point through the Qwizdom Clicker.
