Which major is better suited for a more lucrative career and a higher yield of job prospects?
Planning on transferring to UCBerkeley. Currently in Econ and programming.
Just looking at other possible options. Sick of being in Community College (I’m 23 going on 24, I know) and I can’t seem to get by with these damn Calculus classes… HELP!
Thanks I’m also in a UCBerkeley fraternity, if that helps.
Well, the career outlook for all three of those majors is pretty similar. I think the unemployment rate for anthropology majors is slightly higher than the other two, but only slightly.
They’re social science majors, so there’s no clear/straight-line path to a specific career. You’d have to do internships and gain skills that will make you well-placed for post-graduation jobs. Personally I’m biased towards psychology, but that’s because I was a psychology major and I am more familiar with the BA-level positions that are easily tied to it (marketing, market research, HR, user experience research, I/O psychology, etc.)
Splitting hairs. Do what interests you the most, get summer internships, and work experience while in college and you should be fine.
