Hi I am currently number 60 on the waiting list for a upper division Psych course. I was just wondering how likely I am able to get in. Thanks!

how many people are in the class? a rule of thumb is the 10% rule. 10% of the class might drop, so unless its a 600 person class i doubt you are getting in

if the class is like 200 people your chances are low

you might be out of luck unless they add another section

I was waitlisted for BILD 2 at 80th and the class is only 300 people. I got in three weeks before the quarter started.

It’s all a matter of waiting it out and seeing, but if you can’t risk that, then don’t, especially since this is an UD course… most people won’t drop their UD’s.

@ Radiance

I’m 3rd on waitlist for math course of 33 people per discussion. There’s another spot available, but just not at as good of a time. Should I stay on waitlist or just opt out for the available spot?

Just wait. People will drop by the time Winter Quarter starts.

But it doesn’t really matter, because math discussions aren’t mandatory. You just pick up quizzes/exams from them.
You could always enroll in another section if you’re afraid you won’t get in, and attend a different discussion.
