Hi, I am a current Biochem major and I am considering changing it to Psychobio...
So I signed up for the class "Psych 15: Introductory Psychobiology" hoping it will give me a look into what the Psychobio major is about so I know if I should make the switch.
I am wondering if anyone knows if that class is a good introduction to the actual major. Is it even really related? and, if you have taken it, was it a good class? difficult? worth it? oh, and the course description says "designed for nonmajors." does that mean its not related to the major at all? or that it's a good preview for the major?

take Psych 10 instead. I dont know anything about Psych 15 but it fulfills NO requirements and would be a waste of time.

Psych 10 gets you a general feel for the psych-related classes. There are also classes geared more towards the biology side of things. IE Psych 115, 116, M117J, 119D, 119E, 112B, etc

you mean its not a pre-req for the psychobio major?
well, i was thinking that it might be worth it if it gives me a good look into the major so I know to change it asap because as of now, I’m in the physical sciences (biochem) and psychobio is a life science and they have different pre-reqs. have any of you guys taken it and know what i’m talking about?

psych 15 isn’t a very good primer to psychobio. psychobio is just a meshing of lower division biology classes with your choice of biology or psychology upper division classes. there are some psych classes with a large background in bio (psych 116 neuroanatomy, psych 119 neural basis of behavior, etc.). check out the class requirements for the major and see what kind of classes you’ll be taking.
