Hi I was wondering how psychobio is compared to other pre-med majors. Is it as difficult as the rest?

apparently it used to be the easiest of all majors…but since everyone knew that it was easiest everyone started switching into…hence by the time u arrive at ucla next year it will prolly be the most competitive…i think straight up bio is the easiest

ah perfect, i wish i had gone a few years earlier :(. psychobio really does interest me but i guess word of mouth spreads fast…

That’s actually a total misconception. Psychobiology is one of the hardest majors at any university.

Psychobiology: This just sounds downright hard and after speaking to someone who was a psychobiology major, she nearly wanted to kill herself and regretted choosing this as a major. Like its name suggests, this major comes psychology and biology into one field. It’s like double majoring in two very difficult degrees combined into the same classes, only much harder.

-I’m a Psychobio major, and all that is pretty much true. It’s definitely a cross between two difficult subjects. I go from Organic Chemistry to Applications of Neuroscience. You can major in anything for pre-med. Choose what interests you the most, because that’s the only way I’m getting through this!

^that is the opinion of one person. if you actually read the comments for that article, you can tell that the author doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

if you say that psychobio is one of the hardest majors, then what does that make all the other life science majors? since psychobio<eeb<neuroscience<mcdb mimg phy sci< biochem, then every other major must be RETARDEDLY hard.

accepting the opinion of some article that obviously has no merit is foolish. psychobio at ucla is one of the easiest life majors at ucla. it is heavily concentrated with pre-health (generally non-competitive) students and students who just want to stay science majors. Most of the premeds are in the other majors.

When you get to upper div courses, you will be taking all psych classes (except your elective classes, unless you decide to do psych for those units as well), and psych majors generally aren’t competitive (this is why you need around a 4.0 as a psych major if you want to find a job, because it’s an easy major).
