Psychology 10

What can cc tell me about this class? I'm probably going to take it and it is being taught by TA / GREENFIELD / SHAPIRO / HOLYOAK. Any tips?

psych 10 is a really interesting overview of psychology, but don’t expect to get too in-depth about any one subject. you’ll probably cover every aspect of psychology ranging from cognitive to abnormal to learning theories–so even though it’s not very in-depth, people are often surprised at how much material they have to know. just read the textbook (they’re usually pretty interesting anyways) and treat it like any other class. :)

I took it in Fall, and it’s definitely interesting, though it is frustratingly simplistic at times (due to the material covered). You have 3 professors and each one teaches a third of the course. That can be cool (you get to hear about experiments and ideas from the people who research them) or extremely frustrating (10 weeks to get to know a prof is hard… 3 is impossibly so). After every 3-4 weeks you take a midterm, and there is no final so studying is not too difficult and you can essentially forget what you know every few weeks.

Worth taking to gauge your interest in the subject, easy, almost no work and minimal studying: take it.

Thank you both for answering.
