Psychology and Environmental Science in McGill

Faculty of Science and Faculty of Environmental Science have both offered me places. However, I am interested in both subjects and I want to know if it is possible to do double major. Moreover, does anyone know how are the psychology programs and environmental programs are like? Are they among the best in North America?

According to BIGTWIX, McGill’s psych programme is one of the best in the world, probably top ten.

I’m an environment minor. I have no idea how it compares to other school’s programs but McGill definitely takes a unique approach (or so they claim). The environment core is made up of both science and social science classes so you get a greater understanding of environmental issues because you can see it from both sides. I don’t know if you can do a double major, but you can very easily do a major in one and a minor in the other.

I am having the same question, I wanted to double major in psychology and nutrition (same faculty as environment), and I emailed to ask a staff from mcgill.
This is what he says, '‘I do not think it will be tedious to double major these two faculties. Actually many of our students in Mcdonald are doing this…’ and the requirement double majoring is >GPA 3.0

I think the main prob may be they are in two different campuses, so you will need to travel for your lessons… minoring will be easier. Find out what is your main focus and do a second major/minor in the other.

Hope these helps. Hope to see you in McGill :)

Env I don’t know, psychology is quite good.

Environment and psych won’t necessarily be on two campuses…You can do environment on both - downtown would lead to a BSc or BA, Macdonald would lead to a Bachelor’s of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. And with psych, you’d be doing a BA or BSc anyways, so the whole two-campus thing is irrelevant for you.
For nutrition and psych, you would have to be traveling between both though…but it isn’t that bad. There’s a 45 minute shuttle that takes students back and forth and it runs fairly often (every 45 min).
