Psychology/biology in Vanderbilt

I got accepted into Vanderbilt and thinking of majoring in psychology or biology. Are these two programs good in Vandy? Which one is better?

I’m a molecular and cellular biology major, and I’ve had really great professors and plenty of research opportunities. If you’re interested in both psych and bio, you may want to consider a neuroscience major

^^^ I’m interested mostly in various branches of field biology – ie, the various wildlife biologies (ethology and zoology and whatnot), ecology, and maybe botany, but there would of course be some overlap between it and mol/cell bio. How would you say classes in my areas of interest compare?

Oh, and is it advisable to use AP Bio credit to get out of the beginner bio course?

Bio AP credit will not place you out of into bio (BSCI 110). I am biased, but I think our biology department is much stronger than our Psych department. As I have always said, you are various research opportunities here in the department, and even a sub-major plan that is tailored to your specific interests.

This is how the websites describes the program:
"Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology (EEOB), for students seeking a foundation for advanced training in ecology, evolutionary biology, conservation/environmental biology, or related subdiscipline. "
More details on classes required, and other Biosci majors can be found below.
