Can anyone recommend colleges with a good psychology major or any that offer a combined Bachelors/Masters 5 year degree in Psych? Also, any opinions on Psych majors going on to do medicine? I'm presuming one would have to take the required courses in Bio etc as electives?Any information woud be very helpful. Thanks.

University of Texas at Austin offers a B.S. in Psychology for Pre-medical Students. It is heavy with Biology, Chem, Physiology and a bit of Math. (They also offer a B.A. in Psychology for those interested in nonmedical fields and/or clinical psychology.)

Along1, one could easily get a psych degree and take the pre-med curriculum as electives. One needen't get a "B.S." necessarily.

Duke also has a B.S. in psychology option with a requirement of 6 quantitative/natural science courses, in addition to 10 psychology courses. For people who don't like science/math as much, there is also a B.A. option with only 1 math requirement. According to the website, psych majors are most commonly found in business or research, although medicine is also a somewhat common career choice.

From my experience, the psychology department here is very strong, especially in cognitive psychology/neuroscience.

Thanks for all the information, it is much appreciated. My sophomore D is not sure if she wants to do psychology- Bachelors, Masters etc: or Psychiatry so we just wanted to make sure she has the option at the end of her Bachelors. I don't know that we are looking for a primarily pre-Med program since she may not go that route. Another deterrent to that would be that she does not particularly enjoy Physics & Math.
We would also prefer a college in the Northeast so she can be relatively close to home(Boston). My son is a sophomore at Univ of Illinois & i think being so far is sometimes not the best scenario. Luckily she does not want to go too far either. Her grades are really good in regular classes but drop in the Advanced so I doubt she would make it into any Ivy League type schools though she does have a lot of ECs.
Any other suggestions?
