Psychology Majors....

i applied to D, SB, SC, I, and M

so i already heard from all of them...

what makes me really mad... is that i got accepted everywhere else...
except where i wanted to go....
why?????????????

ely_113 don't give up. have your hopes high. sb is a good school, have you thought about Irvine(a very good psych department).
if you are going to go to grad school, try to get good grades and apply to davis. just don't give up, you got accepted to other schools and you should be proud of yourself

yes i know! :)
that's what makes me feel alive, that i will get out of CC
:)
i thought i was gonna cry all day if i get rejected.. but no tears have come out of my eyes which is a surprise.. maybe b/c im not on my P.
lol

im sorry about sb ely_113. i am sure you will have a blast at santa barbara or wherever else you decide to go :)

what do u usually include in the appeal??

i honestly don't know but call the admissions and ask them. i am sure they will have all the answers you need.

ely_113, i know you don't want to get rejected again, but i honestly think you should appeal. anyways what's done is done. a second try won't hurt you.

c'mon ely i think you are the only person here who deserves to go to Davis and you should try, especially if you are done with your lower requierments

ely_113
if there was such a thing that i couldv'e given my place in davis to you, i swear i would without even thinking a second

hopefully a good sign - ucla doesn't have a note next to the psych major saying it is impacted anymore. :)

are you sure?

i mean yeah i saw the site too but i still think it is an impacted major, and my counsl. told me the same thing about a week ago

no, im not sure. im just reading into uclas webiste too much. it prob is still impacted due to the fact that you are pre-psych until u fufill requirements but, i noticed other majors have the pre- also and are also noted as impacted. i guess im just trying be optimistic :)

i dont care...UCLA juss accept me for ANYTHING and ill go =X

thanks aabeys...

you are welcome ely_113, you deserve to be in davis more than me i swear

ely_113 you should take a look at this

Appealing Your Admissions Decision

We strongly encourage you to select a campus to which you have been admitted, as very few appeals are granted.

To appeal your denial of admission, you must file a written appeal. You must write the appeal; an appeal written on your behalf (by a parent, counselor, etc.) will not be accepted.

Consideration for appeals is based on your overall application, extenuating circumstances, and new or compelling information.

Include a statement describing your special circumstances along with your academic records. Letters of recommendation and documentation of your circumstances are suggested. Mail your appeal and documentation in a single envelope to:

Admissions Review Committee
Undergraduate Admissions
University of California
One Shields Avenue
Davis, CA 95616-8507

Appeals for fall 2005 transfer applicants are due by May 13, 2005.

No faxed or e-mailed appeals will be considered, and no in-person or phone interviews will be granted.

Because your written appeal is reviewed by a committee, we are unable to discuss it with you in person, over the phone or via e-mail. We will make every effort to notify you of our decision by June 1, so please be patient as you wait for a response. We need time to review your file and the new information you provide. You may monitor the status of your appeal on MyAdmissions.

thanks aabeys :)
that's exactly what i sent you :)

so i went to the transfer center at my school today about my appeal and talked to a counselor. she called the admissions office and asked about whether or not the transcripts needed to be official or unofficial and i guess it is not important. he also gave a few tips for my appeal. he said that if yuo are only writing an appeal asking them to reconsider or re-evaluate your application and do not have "new or compelling" evidence to support why you should be at uc davis, then it won't help. unless you have something "new and compelling" (exact quote of his emphasis) to bring to light that may have affected yuor chances of admission, basically yuo are wasting your time and should just go to one of the uc's that accepted you. i talked to my counselor about what i was writing my appeal on and she told me that i had to write an appeal. so we'll see how that works out, but as of now i am not getting my hopes up.

ely_113, i hope this helps youdecide what to write about in yuor appeal too! ;-)

thanks
i might do it...
i wrote an appeal letter but im not sure if i should send it :(

;)

ely_113 you should send it, don't have second thoughts about it

I WILL!! for sure... :) i already printed it out.. and have the envelope ready for tomorrow! :)

will they let me know again if im rejected? or only if admitted?
