Hello everyone, making my first post on here today because I just received my score on the GRE subject test in Psychology. I am planning on applying to PsyD programs (for fall 2010, taking a year off to gain a bit of work experience) and I wanted to know how you think my score will fare in the competitive admissions process: 91 percentile.

I know that the general scores are probably even more important, I am taking those in the spring, but I just wanted to know what anyone in the psychology field thinks about this score on the subject test. Thank you!

Check it against your programs' means. Generally anything above the 90th percentile is looked upon well by most programs, but realize that your GREs will only get the rest of your app read. It doesn't matter if you got 99th percentile on everything if the rest of your application is [very] weak (there's a girl who did just that -- perfect scores on everything -- a number of years back but had no research experience and applied to Ph.D. Clinical Psych programs and didn't even get an interview).
And yes, the General GRE is far more important. The Psych GRE is really only important if you have a dubious background in Psychology. Start practicing for those General GREs!
