Psychology transfer SB or Irvine?

Hi everyone, i know it's getting close to the time when we have to choose the UC we'll be attending but i can't make a decision!

I am transferring as a Psychology major and eventually want to go to grad school and get my Master's and then my Psy D. in Psychology.

UC I has two Psych. programs and a med school so it seems as though there will be more opportunities for interships/research but UCSB has mostly undergrads and ~80% of the students do research there too so im not sure in that regard...

UCI has a more serious and competitive feel which is nice since i feel as though i might get distracted at SB, plus UCI has LA and OC close to it which means more job proximity, BUT SB has and amazing career center.

I am so torn and keep going back and forth on this, i would appreciate any advice on the schools if anyone attends either of them and even more so someone who is in the Psych. dept. at either schools!
Thanks!

Visit both schools if you can. That should help you make a decision more than anything else.

I have visited both schools and i’m still torn… SB is beautiful obviously but also very isolated. Irvine is in the suburbs but it’s close to LA and it’s really clean and nice.

Well if it makes a difference, Irvine’s Psychology (overall) program is ranked 29th, UCSB is 40th.

UCSB is very sociable.

Sounds like UCI is the right choice for you then.
