Psychology

Hi! I’ve been looking in the major psychology and have been really interested in it for quiet a while. I’ve done my own research and watch videos on psych just to see if I was still interested. The problem is my school doesn’t offer AP Psychology. Should I take it online (if so do you guys know any good online class programs) or should I take another class (maybe an AP science or anatomy honors or ap stats?)

Or should I self study for the AP exam in 2020 and do the second option and take another class (again if so what). The thing is i’m a junior rn and I won’t get my score back until senior year so colleges won’t really see that I took the test until after I get into a school.

It’s nice that you are exploring college majors and have found something that interests you. However, it is 100% NOT necessary to take AP Psych in high school to become a psych major in college – or even to prove your interest in it. Self study for it only if that’s what you want to do, not for the sole purpose of getting into college. It won’t matter at all.

That said, AP stats would actually be very helpful for a future psych major. You have to learn statistics as part of the major, so you might as well get a head start.

I totally agree…don’t self-study Psych as a senior.

Colleges assume you will take Psych 101 in college, so you are not behind. Also you don’t have to prove your interest.
I agree that AP Stats is helpful.

Enjoy your senior year.

Agree… you will have plenty of time to take psych classes in college. I would not bother self-studying or taking an online AP Psych class.
