When I first started college, I was 100% sure I’d major in biochem but recently I’ve read tons of comments saying that if you major in biology or chemistry, you won’t find any jobs and you’d probably end working in something unrelated.
My dream is to work in a hospital and get a good paying job; I was thinking of changing my major to microbiology with emphasis in clinical laboratory science and public health because my ultimate goal was to work as a CLS but I’ve also read that that is a very competitive path and not many get into a program, which destroyed my illusion…
Then, I investigated a little and discovered that public health offers more opportunities than the majors mentioned above, however I don’t really know much about it or if my 2nd major choice could count as public health.
Now, my last choice is to double major in science and a foreign language (I already know Spanish and I skipped a few courses, also, I live near Mexico so I think is the best language) to be a hospital interpreter since I really, really want to be in a hospital, but do I need to go to med school to learn all the terms? That’s the only thing I don’t want to do.
What should I do? As I mentioned before, I love hospitals so I really want to get a position in one but I don’t know what to do to get there.
