Public Humanities programs

Hello!

I am currently applying to Georgetown and Brown for their graduate programs in the Public Humanities and was interested to hear if anyone had any opinions about them. Obviously they’re both pretty niche categories of study but they fit exactly into my continuing studies, but there’s not much information online, and while I’ve asked the schools and gone to seminars, I would be interested to hear what you all have to say.

I also would be curious to hear if people think I am even able to get in: Because it’s such an array of interests, I’m not sure if my work and internships would apply. I have a 3.7 GPA majoring in Educational Studies, English and History, and I have had internships with local government, the National Center for Higher Education, and I’ve been the copy chief of my university paper for four years.

Thanks all!

Are these funded or unfunded programs? If unfunded, does the possible career path with these degrees make it at all likely that you’ll earn enough money to repay the loans?

I am not sure yet. I’m hoping at least partially funded but I didn’t pay anything for undergrad and from some research I have enough saved to not take out any loans.
