Public Safety Alert

Did any applicants begin to receive Public Safety Alerts from Georgetown today? I received one around 12 and have never gotten one before. Wondering if any other applicants have gotten the same email...

what is a public safety alert? I’m not from the US.

Thanks

It is an email discussing recent crimes that occurred in Georgetown. I have not only begun to receive PSA’s, but also all student emails… I haven’t received an acceptance or rejection letter! Is this happening to anyone else?

not to me…

Seems interesting!

Can you copy/paste to us some of what the emails say?

i got one too, along with a few others, i dont really know what it means…

I wouldn’t be too worried about public safety alerts. You will get them at all schools (hopefully, your campus police won’t withhold such information). Georgetown is a very safe neighborhood (Georgetown has the second highest home values in DC, next to Chevy Chase. Politicians and millionaires live here). That’s not to say drunk kids staggering home at 2am don’t occasionally get mugged. But if you aren’t stupid, you won’t get hurt. The campus police are around all the time as is Metro. We have a Safe Rides program and students generally travel in groups anyways.
