Public School sending 10% to Ivies et al.

Yeah this is what people don't understand. Harvard was founded for the graduates of BLS, so it would be a scandal if they decided to accept less than at least 15 applicants from Boston Latin per year. Its not that the school has a magic touch that most of their applicants to Harvard are accepted.

I've heard from a few transfers to Cornell that the classes there are much more difficult than those at Columbia...but if you say it's not an Ivy...

Mine is sending 1 to Princeton, 1 to Yale, 3 to Stanford... ehh that's about all. Out of 3-400. Not so impressive. Always a first.

Half of my highschool is going to UCONN or Eastern Connecticut University...the rest are going to community college, military, work or - I'm going to be going to Cornell, 1 to each of these; Wheaton, University of Maryland, Springfield, American University, RIT, Syracuse...a few other random ones...not the best class ever.

Yeah, they said that Cornell is the hardest Ivy to stay in/graduate from/do well in (one of those three haha) because there so much grade DEflation that it's incredibly hard to do well.

I know 1 girl went to Yale this year, but that's all I remember. But my school is actually pretty damn good, but nobody is ever a prestige hog. One friend got into the University of Chicago, but chose to go to Colorado state instead because of the cost. Same situation with a lot of other smart people.

It's the easiest Ivy to get into, but the hardest one to get out of :)

We haven't sent a kid to Harvard in about 10 years. We sent one to MIT a few years back, but our track record is that only females have gone to MIT from our school. We got 2 ivy acceptances in a class of 480~, Penn and Columbia..the Sal & Val respectively.

Oh well :(
