Public Speaking--Student Presentations

10 Rules for Student Presentations

Liverpool Hope University in the UK has issued a list of top ten guidelines for freshman student presentations:

DON’T:

Leave research and preparation until the last minute

Rely on one source of data

Make it up

Just hope that it will come together on the day without preparation and practice

Have no notes to rely on if you get stuck

Worry too much—it’s not as bad as it seems

Mumble

Read from a script

Rush the presentation by speaking too fast

Go over the time allotted for the presentation

Thanks to the Geography for the New Undergraduate programme at Liverpool Hope University for their wisdom.

For a second, I thought they were do's...and I'm like...hmm that's all the stuff that I do... lol
