Public Transport in Princeton

  1. 99% of people live on campus
  2. NJ Transit (train to NY with connection to Philly etc) comes to campus via dedicated “Dinky” shuttle
  3. I knew 2 undergrads who had cars during my entire time at Princeton. One was from New Jersey. The other one was a president at an eating club (=run errands?). Freshmen are not allowed to have cars and parking is expensive and extremely limited for those who have them.
  4. No one drives. No one needs to drive. Everything you want/need is within walking distance or can be delivered to campus. While not a strictly pedestrian campus, given that everyone lives on campus, driving is unheard of.
  5. There are shuttles used primarily by graduate students who live in far-flung regions of campus.
