For students who attend USC, are public buses free? I wasn't sure because some of my friends who go to Davis or Berkeley say their public transportation is included in their cost of attendance.

Thanks :)

LA metro subway/buses are not free for students but k-12/higher-ed students can get discounted monthly passes. USC does have its own shuttle & taxi system it runs within a mile of campus for students who live off-campus.

Students can get a discounted pass: [USC Auxiliary Services | Transportation | Transit Passes](http://transnet.usc.edu/public_transit/transit_passes.aspx)

Great news is the expo line of the metro trains opened this past weekend ( yes, free passes all weekend, but normally the charge is $1.50/ride or $5 pass for whole day without student discount). It has never been so easy for USC students to get downtown, to L.A. Time, Little Tokyo, cool restaurants–downtown is teaming with them, and soon to Culver City which has shopping, cafes, and more.

Hi Kailun! Pls check your inbox, I have a question for you. Thanks.

That’s wonderful news that there is more transit available to USC. Sort of good it wasn’t available to my kids earlier–more distractions. :)

Thanks for all the responses!! :D

Cool617, I replied! :)
