Public transportation to Penn State?

Does anybody know if there’s a bus or shuttle that goes to Penn State?

From where?

Greyhound

Megabus.
Are you international or merely oos ?
(or do you mean public transportation within State College, the city Penn State University Park is in ?)

There is bus service. When DH went to Penn State (many years ago), he was often able to get a ride from other students with a car.

The Megabus goes to State College from Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York, Toledo, Cleveland and Chicago. The stop is actually a few miles from campus, but you can take a taxi, an Uber or a bus to campus and downtown State College from there. (The buses don’t run 24/7 though, so you’d have to plan ahead a bit). I know that there are 4 buses a day from State College to New York.

Greyhound is less reliable, honestly, and most of their trips to other places have stops and transfers somewhere else, extending the trip. There’s also a bus service called Fullington Trailways or something like that, but they usually only have about one weekly trip to most of the major cities you’d want to visit.

If I remember correctly, the nearest train station is in Lewisburg, about an hour from State College by car.

If you’re talking about public transit within State College, there’s the CATA bus system - buses that run regularly to campus and downtown from various places within the town. You can get from almost anywhere in town to Penn State via the public buses, although there are some places in town that get more frequent service than others.
