Public Universities

1st Class:
UCB
UCLA
Michigan
North Carolina
Virginia
Texas

2nd Class:
Washington
Florida
UConn
Penn State
Georgia
Florida State
Delaware
Rest of UC's (Don't argue this one all you california residents. The rest are 2nd class)

3rd Class:
Rutgers
Vermont
UMass
South Carolina
Suny Binghampton
Arizona
Arizona State

4th Class:
George Mason
West Virginia
Kansas
Kentucky
Oregon
New Hampshire
Tennessee

Obviously, not all schools are listed. You can argue with the classes, but you will most likely be wrong.

u can argue UCSD is in first class. but none of the other UCs would be. u might be able to say UCM, UCR, and UCSC are in lower classes but maybe not.

you seem to have skipped william and mary. they'd be up high.

I would consider UCSD first class.

william and mary is first class....ok ucsd is first class
Make your own lists

What's up with the UCSD pushers? Would be "second class" given it's history and student body stats.

well. UCSD does have one of the best bioengineering programs in the nation and the caliber of accepted students is not much below that of berkeley and la. I think it was 4.15 average GPA for berkeley and 4.06 for UCSD.

Wisconsin's up there also.

That ranking is really bad.

"What's up with the UCSD pushers? Would be "second class" given it's history and student body stats."

look at the stats, ucsd stats are barely below those of uc berkeley and ucla. i would argue ucla uc berkeley and ucsd are all clearly first class. the statistics of the other uc's however are substantially lower. you cant clump a first class school like ucsd with uc santa cruz. that is not reasonable.

ucsd's stats are 4.06 and 1307 sat. and an accpetance rate in the high 30's. deffiantly not second class. how could you place texas in front of ucsd and equal with ucla?... you placed ucsd in the same category as:

Washington
Florida
UConn
Penn State
Georgia
Florida State
Delaware

come on the 7th best public school in the country (ucsd) in the same league as those universities. not a chance

for public univerities:

first tier:

berkeley
virginia
michigan
ucla
north carolina
william and mary
ucsd
wisconsin

second tier:

washington
texas
uci
ucsb
uc davis

third tier:

oregon
arizona
ohio state
uconn
florida
kansas
kentucky
ect...........

ohio state 3rd tier.. bah!! ugh... they have made some really good progress, and its getting much more difficult to get in every year, their business school is in the top 20. On par with Oregon and Kansas!??!?

agreed, ohio state is like more accurately represented in the second tier. i was torn between 2nd and third in my first post.

Michigan State has to, AT LEAST, be in the 2nd tier and, on many levels, could be considered in the 1st

Um...who really cares? Everyone's personal lists will be a bit different.

All I'm saying is that Wisconsin best be up in the top tier, or I'm gonna have to bust a cap. represent!

;)

Illinois is a between 1st/2nd.

wisconsin should be top class, and should illinois. Besides that....the ranking is perfect...all those who disagree are dumb

Besides that....the ranking is perfect...all those who disagree are dumb

How do you justify putting UCSD and UC Riverside in the same tier?

binghamton
we're not vacationing, it's a college...lol.
sorry, being from ny it's a pet peeve.

I guess binghamton isn't important enough to spell correctly....

UCSD should be put in the first class.
