Hey. I was wondering if anyone had any experience publishing stuff. I am writing a research paper on a business/economics topic, and I feel like if I sent it in, they would be mad that they had to read it all, but if they just had the paper and saw that it was published, they wouldn't need to read it cuz they know it's good ( since it's published) so i was wondering, if anyone knew, any places that you can publish stuff? ( that sounds really stupid, but i don't really know where to start), possibly name some that are harder to get into than others, and those that aren't as hard, and then how long it normally takes to get their decision of if they like it or not... Thanks everyone!

anyone have any ideas?

Well, maybe you could clarify a bit? What are you sending it in to? Who would be mad?

it takes a while and then sometimes the reviewers will send it back and make you write more and then it takes even longer
and not to mention it can get rejected and then you have to send it somewhere else etc etc etc
usually publishing stuff takes months if not longer

but that’s for scientific journals,
i don’t know how it is in the humanities

basically publishing stuff is a big pain in the ass but it’s worth it

The topic of the paper is intrinsic in deciding where to submit it. So what, specifically, is the piece about?

sorry i just read my question(s) again, and it doesn’t make much sense. haha.
but it’s about using buddhist economic models and theories for economic growth, instead of neo-classical and kaynes models.

and i wanted to send it to wharton. the admissions lady said it wouldn’t hurt, but i feel like it would make it easier to just know it’s published than for them to read it all.

does that help?
