I know there have been other posts comparing these two schools, but I have some specific questions...
Does anyone have opinions about which school has better food?! I have to eat gluten and dairy free, so the school I go to must have some healthy options. And how about the dorms and facilities at both schools? Also, what are the general attitudes of the students at both? For example, are the students friendlier at one of the schools? And academically, how do the two compare in a liberal arts education?
Thanks!

Daughter is down to same two schools and it will be a tough choice next week. Visited both and would rate as follows:

Willamette
Pluses include great food as evidenced by all the adults who eat there. Extremely nice admissions staff and students. Made daughter feel wanted and valued. Also next to capital. Good vibe on campus.
Negatives: Less majors than UPS because about 500 less students. Might not be an issue based on your interests. Train that runs next to very average dorms.

UPS
Really nice campus. Seems to have great orientation. Students seem to like it. Better facilities than Willamette and prettier campus. Located in a nice residential area but close to commercial areas.

Bottom line is if I could import the Willamette people and food to UPS campus it would be the best of both.

Good luck

I know UPS has a good vegan selection. Dorms are nice, at least the one I saw. Buildings are nice, beautiful campus. Everyone seemed really nice, but I did see a lot of jock-types walking around (not that jocks aren’t nice, but it turned me off from it). Good mixture of down to earth wholesome people, jocks, “normal” people, etc.

Sorry, don’t know anything about Willamette.

Son was accepted at both, chose UPS and is very happy there. Only experience with Willamette was a visit, on a Saturday morning, so that was not ideal, I’m not sure how awake the campus was. Agree on comment above on Willamette campus, very nice campus, train tracks/averge dorms maybe a minus. UPS campus beautiful, great location. School is doing well, just opened a new building and have made other improvements recently. Tacoma is nice medium size city, plenty to do there. Probably about 30 minutes to Seattle, vs 1 hour from Willamette to Portland. My son is not a jock, and he has not said anything to me about there being a lot of jocks at UPS. The % of athletes is probably lower than at Willamette, as the student body is larger. What I get from him is that there are a variety of people, everyone pretty much accepts everyone else, very friendly campus.

As between W and UPS, which has more going on in terms of arts, theater and student music?
Can anyone compare them to LACs in other parts of the country?
