Pull ups

^^^^ great machine! Works wonders.

Daughter got pullups by doing negatives - 2 sets of 5 every other day. 10 seconds count for each negative. This helped her more than doing machines and believe me, she worked herself to exhaustion. She went from not even being able to do the arm hang to getting pullups in about 7 weeks. She practiced pullups as she went along, of course. We had a bar mounted in a door jamb but it did not provide the clearance above the bar that a 5'9" girl needed to get her chin over the bar. Her dad used duct tape to mount a broomstick over the beams in our garage and wrapped it with hockey tape. That was perfect with the assistance of a chair, someone to help her get up there and do the countdown. It worked really well for her to be able to do the workout right at our house before school when it didnt interfere with her volleyball matches, practices, etc. that happened later in the day.
