Any advice for a freshman purchasing books for fall quarter? Specifically for Chem 1A and Math 11A. Trying to save money, can you rent these books?

I’d recommend Chegg.com if you want to rent them. There’s also textbooks.com

To buy them I always use Half.com (an Ebay service) to buy them used, and then you can sell your books once you’re done with them.

Thanks! I did a search by ISBN number on Chegg, and it didn’t find either book. I will keep looking.

Also, make sure the book isn’t a custom textbook/lab packet/etc. specific for the class. If it’s a custom version then it’s pretty unlikely you’ll find it anywhere other than UCSC.

use slugbooks.com! it’s a great site and you can also buy books from other students on campus. :)
