Trying to buy cheaper textbooks online instead of at the pricey "official" college bookstore is always difficult. You usually can't find out before you go to your first class exactly what you need. If you just buy what's on the list at the various local bookstores, you might buy stuff you don't even need.

I found a trick that I hope will work to get around that. First, go to the MSC Bookstore website: http://tamu.bkstore.com/ . You can search for textbooks by the exact section of the course you are taking. That way you can find out what your particular professor wants you to have.

Then you can go online and search at the various online textbook sites and try to find a better price than what they have at the MSC. Remember that you'll have to pay shipping, though. Also, be sure you are ordering the correct edition of each text.

We are going to try this and see how it works.
