Purdue Email Account

Has any1 setup ther @purdue.edu email account as of yet. I tried to so that I could access www.facebook.com but I found it very difficult to navigate. If anyone has can you Please snd me the direct link to setting up the account + guide me thru all the important steps in doing so. I have just managed to setup my SSinfo account.

I'm pretty sure that all my son did was go to this url: https://webmail.purdue.edu/ and type in the initial to his first name then his last name for "username" and password was the same as at ssinfo. He originally found out what his email address would be by accident. At the ssinfo site under the "GENERAL" link, there is something called "Purdue Directory search", he searched there, finding out his own email address. Good luck to you, it's easier than I can type out.

Thanx for the reply mominin but i tried the same but it doesnt work. Now i have yet 1 more problem I cant login to ssinfo as i dont know what to put in the username column . I tried my PUID as well as my email address...

HELP ME SOME! PLZ>>>>>>>>>>

when you navigate to the ssinfo, you must use your ID (which is usually your social security number) and setup that login, once that is done you can access the mailweb in order to set up an email

K, i had the EXACT same problem. Your Email login is your first initial followed by the first 7 digits of your last name. My name is David Sutherland, so my email is dsutherl@purdue.edu. And again, your password to begin with is your social security number. That is until you change it or if you've already changed your SSINFO account password, in that case, it's your SSINFO password. Hope that helps.

Thank you all for you help .... I believe there was a problem with the itap server in my case as the password assigned to me was different to the one i requested. It's all done now and my purdue email account is all set . Lets keep in touch ... By the way my email id is njaveri@purdue.edu .

my e-mail is kimcm@purdue.edu . i was a little confused when i figured it out because usually it's first initial, then last name. mine turned out being last name, then first and middle initials. anyone know why it did that? maybe there was already a ckim on campus.

It varies on the person if it is the first initial and then the last name of last name and then the initials. If you swiped your id to setup your account it lets you choose one. I am unsure how the SSINFO way of setting up accounts work, since I have only done and helped others with the swipping an id at one of the few swipe keyboards. But, I found this page that helps you setup a mail client, like Outlook and a few others.
http://www.itap.purdue.edu/email/mailhub/clientSetup.cfm

I hope that helps some people too.

mine was first and middle initial then first six letters of last name tkgarret@purdue.edu it was impossible to figure that out at first they should just send it in your admission letter

HI! I'm an alumni and just found out that I can't get a student e-mail id to access purdue computer network. Is anyone willing to let me use their account? I would be willing to pay like ten dollars to use your account so I can login to the machines. If you can help you can email me at branina1@yahoo.com. It's not for abusive purposes only to login at purdue in computer lab. Thanks.

hey I cant even log into the ssinfo coz I dont have a social security number (im an international)..is the login id= the PIN I was given? I tried the birthday password but it didnt work too..

You may want to be careful with borrowing or letting someone borrow your account. I have heard of people that had let their good friend who would do no wrong borrow their login information and the good friend sent threating emails to the President of the university and even the governor of the state. Lets just say the state police didn't take the threats as a joke as the friend said they were. But, this was a while back and I am sure in current times, you may even get a nice visit from the FBI if you did the same thing.

If you really need a purdue account for some reason, you should contact the Alumni association and they do have ways for you to get at the very least an email account. They may even be able to point you to the people you would need to talk to, to possibly get a temporary account to use.
