I am admitted to both schools with IU offering 4k/yr more in merit scholarship (should've taken the SAT a third time). My sense is that Purdue has a better program and reputation with all of the emphasis on science, math, and engineering. It's so hard to sort out though. Relying on a sense of things is not the best approach so any concrete input is much appreciated. Oh, and I am not the most outgoing person, but getting better, so if any input regarding support and atmosphere would be great. Thanks. David

The initial reaction is that Purdue would win hands down. Is the money that important(not that much), or is there additional info about IU that attracts you? I know they have a great freshman adjustment effort and campus. They also have an innovative and leading informatics program, however I presume you are talking pure computer science. With a little extra digging I see they have a real computer science program that is wrapped into the informatics school. They certainly have enough faculty with great credentials including Purdue grads. Tell us more of your view and concerns.
