Purdue or SUNY - Buffalo?

Okay, I really need help choosing which one I should apply for my safety school. First of all, I'm an international student, hoping to attend a strong business program. I'm not really concerned about the cost, but I want to choose a school that actually care to help international students and, of course, has a strong academic reputation.

I would appreciate if you guys can tell me some pros and cons for each school(example, below).

Purdue University

Buffalo

Thanks!

come on...give me some help..!

bump............please!

I don't know much about the schools per se, but live within a couple of hours of Buffalo. Buffalo is on Lake Erie. Winter starts in November and lasts through April in this area, and gets 100+ inches of "lake effect" snow every season. So, don't go to Buffalo unless you love winter/snow.

Purdue is part of the Big Ten conference, so sports are huge. Winters in Indiana are cold, but you won't get the volume of snowfall there.

Based on environment alone, I would recommend Purdue over Buffalo.

thanks, buckeyemom2, for your environmental information!

anyone else can answer my question, above?

I go to buffalo so my input -
the weather isnt very different in new york state and indiana.. it just snows more, but the worst of the snow is south of Buffalo, while the campus is in the north part of the city/in the suburb of amherst.. and since it snows so much they are used to it and have a great system of plowing.. buffalo has one of the highest percentages of international students in the country if you're worried about fitting in.. they're pretty much on par academically and are about the same the get into to.. buffalo's a little bit smaller if that matters to you.. and the ratio of males to females is pretty much equal (there are more males at purdue)... tuition is a lot cheaper at buffalo and since you're using them as a safety like I did you should have no problem getting a scholarship too.. also I think the Buffalo/niagara region (with the whole toronto region about an hour or two away) has so much more to offer than any part of Indiana :D... do you know where you want to work after college? I think buffalo would be better if you want to work in the northeast like NYC.. ok rambling but I hope that helped somewhat

thanks so much for your input ajr62807.

to answer your question, i hope to work somewhere northeast. that said, hows the international recruiting in Buffalo? are there lots of companies that recruit students? also, are there many spots available for internships? and lastly, how would you compare SUNY Binghamton with Buffalo academically (especially in buessiness)?

bump..............

last bump.......

last..last..bump?

I think you'll find a more fun college-town feeling at Purdue. (And a prettier campus.)
