Hi I recently got accepted into both purdue and temple. I am majoring in Biology following the premed track I would like to hear some opinions on both schools. Which has a better reputation, how is the student life there? most importantly which is better for my program?

OP, it doesn’t make much sense to ask your question that way. Biology is biology and biology programs are pretty much the same everywhere. Where are YOU going to do your better work? which is less expensive because you’ll carry enough debt from med school? which offers you substantial opportunities for other majors should you not make it in bio but still want to go to med school? work inside out instead of outside in. Where are you going to fit better? Who are you?

I would look wider than biology for premed. When I did my undergraduate degree it seemed like all of my biology friends applied to medical school and some were denied because they brought no unique background with them. Think about programs like nutrition science (preventive medicine is huge right now), bio-medical engineering, neuroscience, etc. Almost all my friends from those programs got in. Biology majors are a dime a dozen when applying for medical school
