Purdue U or Indiana U

Purdue U or Indiana U for business?

Can anyone help me out

They both have good programs in business. I find the IU campus much nicer.

For business, I say IU. Plus, I agree with macattak that IU is way prettier.

any other suggestions?

Frankly, unless you are going for engineering (which IU doesn't have) there isn't much reason to pick Purdue. IU is better in every respect.

IU by far, its business school is one of the best in the country and it has a great campus

Just keep Purdue's Krannert MBA program in mind for later on. It's ranked No. 1 by the Wall Street Journal. The US News & World Report ranked it third in production/opertions management and sixth in supply chain/logistics. This is out of an article on ranking from the Purdue Perspective (arrived today in this Boilermaker home!)

So for undergraduate Indiana > Purdue right?

Yes, except for science and engineering

While I agree with the above, IU isn't that much above Purdue. Both are considered top national publics. You will be hard pressed to find two such well respected state institutions in the same state, much less in a state with a comparable population.

Speaking as a graduate of both Universities (Purdue - engineering/IU - MBA) I feel I can offer somewhat unbiased advice. Historically, IU has been the school for a business education in Indiana. However, in recent years, IU has had some leadership challenges which have impacted the schools overall reputation. On the other hand, Purdues recent leadership transition has been relatively seamless and the schools reputation has held steady or improved as a result. I think a telling indicator of this is the fact that in the recent grad school ratings, Purdues' Krannert has leap frogged IU's once highly regarded MBA program.

I think IU slightly edges out Purdue, but not enough to where I think Purdue is out of the running. Especially for someone who's going to be going into business

Have you visited both? To me, they both feel very different from each other. I think that you should definitely consider which one feels more like you.
