Which one is best for graduate school admissions?
I want lots of research opportunities in the Physics field. I don't really care about social life. Just the physics program pl0x.

In the name of all that is holy I must attempt to bump this.
The life of my family depends on it.

I shall bump as well, I too ponder this question.

IU is most well known for their humanities (primarily, law and business) with a side of medicine. Purdue’s the place to be of the big-Indiana colleges for anything else related to the maths and sciences.

I would recommend Purdue as well.

What does Purdue have over IU (and vice versa) academically?

PU has more research opportunities and generally has more rigorous curriculum. It is known for it’s weed-out classes (kind of like engineering) and even the easy Physics classes are considered difficult. The PU physics department is also a bigger part of the university than the IU department. You can also gauge the quality of the programs by the classes offered.
