Purdue University Chances

Hi, I just finish my junior year of High school and was wondering what my chances were for Purdue University in West Lafayette .

My unweighted GPA is 3.96 and weighted GPA is 3.97.
My class rank is 40 out of 580.
I have a ACT composite score of 24:
Math 28
English 23
Science 26
Reading 20

I took the new SAT score and got: 630 & Evidence Reading and Writing 580

I have completed AP Chemistry as my only as my only AP class, but I am taking AP calculus (ab), AP stats, and AP Physics my senior year.

I have done two years of backstage theater and 3 years of a varsity sport. I also have a part time job, and I volunteer frequently at a nearby hospital.

I have already secured two good recommendations from teachers.

I have written strong supplementary essays. My GPA has remained constant through out the years, and I have taken three years of Spanish.

I hope to enter into the colleges of engineering or business.

I am not a resident of Indiana.

I appreciate any feedback
Thank you!!!

Purdue should be a safety for you if you improve your act. Easy school to get into hard to get out because of weed out classes. Good luck.

Have you looked at the Purdue website?

This is what it had for the freshman profile of fall 2015:
In fall 2015, Purdue welcomed its most academically prepared freshman class to date.

•Size of class: 6,812

•Number of applications: 45,023

•Overall average high school class rank: Top 16%

•Middle 50% high school GPA range: 3.5-4.0

•Middle 50% SAT range: 1630-1950

•Middle 50% ACT composite range: 25-31

•Middle 50% ACT English/Writing range: 23-29

•Students in top 10% of high school class: 43%

•Students in top 25% of high school class: 80%

I have an ACT super score of 26 does that raise my chances??

Are the engineering school chances significant lower?

This is from Purdue’s website:

What are the average test scores and GPA for First Year Engineering students?

There are a number of factors that the Purdue Office of Admissions considers as criteria for acceptance to the First-Year Engineering Program. For Engineering, standardized test scores and grades in math, science, and English are very important criteria.

Typically, those admitted to the First-Year Program are A and B students in high school. Students enrolled to the College of Engineering for 2013 had an average combined SAT in the middle 50% range of 1800-2080 (average). Of the students that enrolled, 50% had a GPA between a 3.8-4.0, and an ACT Composite of 28-32.
