Purdue University Class of 2020 Results Thread

Oh my bad, I read wrongly, I believe you can go under exploratory studies and trasnfer to ENGINEERING, i was under the assumption you were going for comp science, but a heads up as well, the competition for Purdue CS is also very tough. I would therefore go for a second opinion, probably someone in this forum, or you can start a new thread. Good luck, and I sincerely hope to see you at Purdue in Fall!

@skyblade1234 Actually I was wondering if I could have Purdue reconsider my decision. Would that maybe give me any chances of getting in? If I do so, would that remove my option of choosing an alternate major?

@Jackr12 I’m not sure about that, you should call and ask

@skyblade1234 Ok I will do so then. Thanks for all of the help!

Reflection

Strengths: GPA, rigor of classes, well-rounded, essays
Weaknesses: My SAT score could have been higher, I never had time for test prep. Also I probably should have involved myself in extracurriculars that relate to my intended major
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: Purdue is a really good engineering school. Also I applied really late!
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: Accepted: UCI (Honors), Northeastern (Honors), CPP, CSULB, U Minnesota; Waiting for U of M, Notre Dame, UCSD, UCB and a few others!

General Comments: I was a little disappointed considering Purdue has a relatively high acceptance rate, but it wasn’t one of my top choices anyway. I think submitting my app so late hurt me.

This girl is a geeg. University of Oxford should accept you.

Guys I got in with SAT 420. How did aiwaosi not get in?

@ihtonywei 420 SAT you serious bro? Into Purdue??

And I think the reason she didn’t get in is cuz she applied really late. Most of the co petetive majors get filled up by jan 5.

But the lowest sat score one can get is 600 right?

I think what he meant is a 420 on a section ( math, reading, writting). Also, engineering at Purdue is certainly more competitive than others.

Edit: SAT 2290

Got an email this morning saying I got accepted! I applied on Feb 1.

@2020classx me too, I also applied on Feb.1, but I’m still waiting

what major @2020classx ?
