I recently posted about being between 2 small colleges but I started talking with friends about Madison and Purdue. I’ve always liked small campuses and small class sizes, but I feel like the schools are too good to just knock of the list. I’m looking to go into computer engineering. Purdue seems to line up well with my future goals- serving in the community and studying abroad. I’m nervous about large lectures and the competitiveness of each school. Madison requires a 3.5 simply to stay in the college for the first year (while not impossible, it takes away from actually enjoying college and adds a lot of stress). What other factors should I consider? Are there any current student or alumni that went to each and can elaborate on there experience? The people on the last forum were super helpful so I’m back with more questions. I have visited each but I plan on visiting again soon.
The first is cost. Madison is about $53k year for out of state students with virtually no aid from the school. Progression requirements are a real thing at Madison. If you look at the grade distribution report here https://registrar.wisc.edu/grade-reports/
you can see the actual grades for each class. Madison is a great college town. The experience is at the very top of the large college group. Bucky is by far the best mascot of any college
Purdue is OK :))
@eeyore123 I’m in state for Madison so cost is actually cheaper than Purdue. I see you’re a Bucky fan :))
