I’m a rising freshman at Purdue, however, I want to transfer out after my freshman year. My prospects are VA Tech, UGA, and University of Toronto in Canada. With work and small loans, VA Tech, UGA, and Purdue would only be 25k a year total, whereas UToronto would be 36k total. I want to go to each respective universities business school. Is UToronto worth the drastic price difference? I know overall it is a better school, but is the large distance (15 hr. car ride from home), and, again, the heightened price worth its attendance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Rotman Commerce is U of T’s business program. It doesn’t take transfer students. It does take a small number of U of T first year students. If you were to try that route, you’d spend more than 4 years in undergrad.
IMO, for someone who intends to work in the US in business, it would be best to go to a US school.
Yeah I figured. After doing further research it doesn’t appeal to me to much. I’m going to apply to McGill, for it is far more recognized in the states, is world class, and cheap. I don’t think it necessarily matters what country I get a business degree, because I am intending to get an MBA 100% and you would need at least 3 years of work experience before even being considered - in Canada one can work 3 years out of college as a US citizen, so this is perfect for me!
