My S was admitted to all 3 schools, but it turns out the admission was for the School of Undergraduate Studies at UT. He is in the CS programs at the other two schools. We are OOS for all three. UT has a highly ranked and exciting CS program but the Undergraduate Studies part is disappointing since he wouldn't be able to take CS courses right away or participate in the department functions for at least the first semester. Sort of a second class citizen with no guarantee that you can get in later. Does anyone have any advice? Thoughts on the strength of the CS program at Purdue? Campus life at Georgia Tech? Thanks!

Computer Engineering at Purdue ranks 10th nation wide.

Thanks kjong58. We researched the engineering department at Purdue and think it’s terrific, but now my son is certain that he wants to study Computer Science, which is in the College of Science instead of College of Engineering. We’re just not as sure about the CS department. We would love to hear from anyone with experience.
