Purdue vs UIUC for Aerospace Engineering

I’ve decided that I will be going to one of these schools. However, I really can’t make up mind as to which of these two I will attend. I really need some help here.
Both programs are approximately equal. I’ve found from people I know that West Lafayette is somewhat bigger than Urbana-Champaign( Town size is an important factor for me). UIUC is about $3,000 more expensive per year, though this is not much of a problem. I also plan to try out for the tennis team as I’m an avid tennis player. UIUC’s team is ranked far higher than Purdue’s, which stands to affect my decision as well, though not as much as the previous two factors. Campus visits are out of the question for me as I live in India.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Purdue’s campus is more “contained”, as in not as spread out. Purdue also a strong connection to the space program due to all the astronaut graduates. And, if UIUC’s tennis team is ranked higher, that may make it harder to “walk on” to the tennis team. So those are reasons to choose Purdue.

I’ll let UIUC grads voice their opinions on why you should choose UIUC!

I’ll consider that. I’ve spoken to a UIUC graduate and he said if you plan to stay through the winter break, it gets pretty lonely there. That’s something I don’t want.
