I got into both for mechanical engineering. Which one has a better mechanical engineering program?
I’m leaning towards Minnesota mainly beacuse i heard there isn’t much to do in the surrounding areas of Purdue and Minnesota is near a fairly large city and i wanted to experience the city life. So if there isn’t a large disparity between the kind of education i would get, it would be a much easier decision.

If you have any information, i would like to know. Thanks
We are in Minneapolis area, did not get into engineering program at U of MN but did get accepted to another college within the campus. Minneapolis is beautiful, lots of outdoor activities, cultural activities. It is the worst in the winter, though, fyi. I’ve lived a long time in Minnesota and I do love it. Purdue though, does rank higher in engineering than the U of MN. Congrats on your acceptances! My son is waiting to hear from Purdue.
also, I have heard from engineers in the field that U of MN is very research-based and that may influence the direction of your education.
