Strictly academics and value of the degree, which is better? Leaving out cost, campus appeal, sports, etc. Both programs are ranked, but Purdue is a few ticks higher. Purdue engineering seems a better overall…but Madison is probably a bit better overall institution. Tough choice. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.
Both weed out students by college GPA. Find out which one weeds less aggressively for your major.
You can’t leave out the things that you asked. They likely outweigh any minor difference in academics.
Perhaps spend some time reading on the department pages for Comp Engineering at both schools, to get a feel for recruiting, research, internships etc. I’d be surprised if a small difference in departmental ranking would translate into substantially different opportunities during school or in hiring, but I’m not a Comp Engineering person, so could be totally wrong.
