Any info on Purdue itself or on the Hospitality program?

Purdue is a school that doesn’t get a lot of attention on CC, but it is reasonably well-regarded in the midwest, esp for engineering.

I’d say it has a national/international engineering rep. I just did a college fair in Seattle and the Purdue table was very busy with stereotypical future engineers. (Indians and Asians if you must know)

Anyone else?

Purdues Hospitality program was ranked top 5 in the nation a few years ago. Here is some ranking information from 2002.

[FIU School of Hospitality honored as a top-10 program - South Florida Business Journal:](http://southflorida.bizjournals.com/southflorida/stories/2002/10/07/focus4.html)

Our daughter was initially interested in hospitality management and we visited Purdue back in 2008 and had a guided tour by a woman who was involved in the program. It was a very hands-on curriculum with the students helping to run a campus restaurant and hotel. We also visited/toured Michigan States hospitality program which was more integrated into the business school which she seemed to like more than Purdues program. Our daughter ultimately decided to pursue a retail merchandising/marketing degree with a management minor at UMTC.

Good luck with your child’s college/degree selection.
