Purdue's grading system..Help please!

I've read online that Purdue's grading system is one of the hardest. Now I'm not sure if I should believe these reports or not. How difficult is it to get an A? How hard is the grading scale in reality?

It’s not really the grading system, it’s the fact that we have VERY little grade inflation. So while some schools might give 50% of the class A’s, we give like… 20% of the class A’s? Obviously this is different for different courses, and it’s not like, ONLY 5 people can get A’s (at least not in any of my classes). You get the grade you earn. That being said, I’m a Civil Engineering student with a 3.9 (out of 4.0) GPA. :)

I agree with Seirsly…very little grade inflation. You will need to work for those A’s!

Perhaps that’s why the Purdue degree (in engineering) is so coveted by employers.
Or so I’m told by said employers when I interview…
