Pure stats and class rank craziness... How will colleges interpret me?

Ok... due to some ridiculous ranking system at my school, my class rank doesn't reflect my UW GPA at all. AP classes are HEAVILY weighted and I've taken one more than most people are able to, so I've benefited greatly in class rank.

UW GPA: 3.57
Class Rank: 8/366
SAT I: 800 M - 700 CR - 710 W
SAT II: 800 - Physics, 790 - Math II

Transcript (exclusing random electives/gym):

9th Grade:
Gifted English H - B
Gifted History H - B
Algebra II H - A
Biology H - B
Spanish II H - A

10th Grade:
Gifted English H - B
Gifted History H - B
Precalculus H - C
AP Chemistry - A/5
AP Biology - B/5
Spanish III H - A

11th Grade:
AP US History - B/4
AP CompSci A - A/5
AP Calc AB - A/5
AP Physics B - A/5
Spanish IV H - A
English H - A

12th Grade:
AP Econ (Micro/Macro) - expect A
AP Calc BC - expect A
AP Stat - expect A
AP English Lit - probably B, possible A
Spanish V H - expect B
Anatomy & Physiology H - expect A

So that's it. I was just lazy (read: an idiot) as a frosh/soph but still took every AP/honor class I could except AP Euro. There are bunch of (angry) people with 4.0s ranked worse than me simply because they took 1-2 fewer AP classes. How will I be looked at by college admissions officers, and to what type of schools can I expect to be accepted?

Thanks in advance.

No one???

And some schools I'm looking at are:

Carnegie Mellon
UVA
Vanderbilt
Emory
Penn State Main

As long as you don't draw attention to this anomaly in your school's system, I don't think this is going to hurt you at all. Your grades have obviously improved a lot over the past two years, which also looks really good. Your test scores are amazing, and your classload is great - I'm guessing you have great chances at getting into those particular schools. If I were you, I'd definitely apply to a few reaches, also, because both your rank (to the naked eye) and scores really are impressive.

it will especially help you if others from your schools are not applying to the same colleges. They're more likely to catch the glitch if your school is well known to them. Hopefully it will just look like you go to a very tough school with grade deflation!

Hmm, your chances are dismal. You don't quite seem cut out for the schools mentioned above. Penn State might be good for you--borderline target/reach. Have you considered your cc? Best of luck.
