Hey everyone,

I'm currently a Sophomore in high school and I'm wondering if any of what I'm about to say matters to colleges or if it'll mean nothing when senior year rolls around?

I've always loved computer science, and freshman year I decided to really start doing something. Summer between 8th and 9th grade I took an iD Tech course at Seton Hall University in C++ programming. I then took that and won 1st place at the school's local science fair.

I took a JAVA course with iD Tech at Princeton the following summer (this past one) and successfully petitioned the head of the school to offer a Intro to Comp Sci course this year. I also won 3rd place again this year at the science fair. I'm planning on taking AP Comp Sci next year, and tutor the kids who are taking Intro to Comp Sci. I also got a 97 and 100 in the past two trimesters in the course.

I'm also planning on starting the computer science/programming/computers club next year, and enter a regional/higher level science fair competition.

If you guys could let me know if all of this "pursuing a passion" really matters for college, because I've worked really hard for this stuff, and I'm looking to continue studying computer science in the future.
