Push summer ECs forward or backward into school year?

<p>If I did an EC in the summer between my junior and senior year, would I mark the 11th or 12th grade box on the Common App?</p>

<p>Ahhhh my counselor told me it was 11 summer! Have any idea where I can look to clarify the answer? Or does anyone else know?</p>

<p>The only reason why I thought it might be 11 summer is because you wouldn’t count the summer before 9th grade as 9 summer. This sort of makes sense. But I really don’t know, especially since people always say “I’m going into ninth grade” in the summer BEFORE ninth grade. Ugh. Thanks for your opinion though. I still don’t know what to do :(</p>
